These photographs were taken in Java (Indonezijoje). They represent the people who work in sulfur and oil mines. The oil wells there produce 170,000 barrels of oil a day. The sulfur mines produce over 176 pounds of sulfur a day. The work in both is environments is quite difficult and creates health problems for those who work there. For this work the workers earn about $11 a day.
